More Votes Counted in Florida Than Were Cast - Check out official FLA Voter Turnout vs. official FLA Presidential Vote Tally . These mirrored sites perfectly matched the official FLA sites for turnout and tally as of 11/9/04 10:45AM. Do the Math. Votes counted exceeds votes cast by 3.2%. Add in vote spoilage of 2-3% and the discrepancy becomes 5-6%. FLA officials have since posted new numbers narrowing the gap. Their media spokesperson explained the discrepancy to me by stating that both counts are ongoing and should eventually match up.
